Rain to Go On Till March This Year

Keep your umbrellas with you at all times people, as the Malaysian Meteorological Department have released a statement saying the depressing rainy season is expected to go on till March this year, during the current North-East Monsoon period.

The statement, according to Bernama, states that heavy rain could fall in Kelantan, Terengganu, eastern Pahang and Johor (Segamat, Mersing, Kluang, Batu Pahat and Kota Tinggi) in early January. Thunderstorms are expected in the evening and early at night on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia.

Sabah and Sarawak is expected to see heavy rain in January and February especially in the north and east of Sabah, and in the west and central of Sarawak. Be careful though as the Meteorological Department warned that this might result in floods in low-lying areas.

During Chinese New Year, the department forecast thunderstorms in Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and western Johor, which will occur in the evening and at night.
