A total of 1,420 Malaysian professionals have been approved to return home since January 2011 to September 2012, through the Returning Expert Programme (REP) since TalentCorp took over in January 2011.

This number is higher compared to the 1,130 people who were approved to return over a 10-year period (from 2001-2010).

“TalentCorp is considered a one-stop centre which includes facilitating the return of Malaysian professionals abroad through the REP programme,” said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk SK Devamany.

“It is a good development when 680 people were given the green light to come back in 2011 which has increased to 740 people until September 2012,” he continued.

Bernama wrote that those who have returned are currently serving in the NKEA (National Key Economic) areas such as the service sector, finance, business services, oil, gas and energy, communications content, infrastructure, electrical and electronics.
