Marco Polo Teaser Trailer Released

The trailer for Netflix’s big-budget, new original series that was shot in Malaysia has arrived.

Co-produced by the Weinstein Company and Game of Thrones director Daniel Minahan, this 10-episode series cost an alleged US$90 million to produce.

The series depicts an Italian merchant’s adventures in Kublai Khain’s court in 13th century China. The show has a young and fresh cast lead by Italian newcomer Lorenzo Richelmy, Benedict Wong as Kublai Khan, Joan Chen, Chin Han, Zhu Zhu, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Mahesh Jadu, Tom Wu, Remy Hii, UliLatukefu and Rick Yune.

In keeping with its international flavour, this John Fusco created series was shot in Italy, Kazakhstan and of course, at the Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios situated in Nusajaya, Johor. Pinewood Malaysia provided the main base for this new historical drama with the five month shoot ending at the end of August 2014.

Marco Polo will premiere on Netflix on 12th December 2014. Watch the trailer here.
