Google Street View is finally available in Malaysia! As of yesterday, those who use Google Maps can check out some of Malaysia’s famous cities, neighbourhoods and landscapes through panoramic street-level photographs.

Featured in Google Maps and Google Earth, Google Street View features a panoramic view of various locations around the world. You could probably find your street and check out your house on Google Maps too!

As reported on the Malay Mail Online, about 90% of the Malaysian peninsula’s scenery is now accessible online via Google Street View.

The images on Google’s Street View took about a year to be captured and compiled. This was done using cameras installed on cars. The images you see, though, are not in real time. But they will be updated monthly or on a bimonthly basis.

If you are concerned about privacy, rest assured that number plates and people’s faces have been blurred. If you wish for Google to further blur your image, submit a request by using the ‘report a problem’ tool on the bottom right corner of Google Maps.

Have you used Google Street View to check out your residential area or work place? What did you think?
