Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Firefly recently implemented The Royal Bank of Scotland’s (RBS) multi-currency pricing feature, called FXmicropay, on the airline’s website.

This innovative feature is aimed to simplify online purchases for customers as well as minimize the inconvenience commonly faced by tourists when purchasing flight tickets.

Firefly’s Chief Executive Officer, Ignatius Ong explains, “Enhancing customer experience is extremely important to us. Whether our customers are 1,000 or 10,000 km away, multi-currency pricing with FXmicropayTM simplifies the process of purchasing tickets in the currency they are most comfortable with.”

Ong further adds, “Points of separation between us and other airlines are we’re always leading in innovation, committed to enhancing customer experience and prioritizing the safety of passengers. Last year we introduced our very own self check-in kiosk, offered customers the opportunity to sign up for the Travel Protection Programme, and also enable frequent flyers to earn and redeem Enrich miles. We have several other new initiatives lined up for 2014 and this we believe will provide customers a more seamless journey.”

With FXmicropayTM, Firefly has made it possible for their customers to purchase tickets in 6 different currencies of their choice instantly. The currencies available include: Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), Singapore Dollar (SGD), British Pound (GBP), Euro (EUR), Australian Dollar (AUD) and US Dollar
(USD).

FXmicropayTM is a multi-currency pricing service developed by RBS’s e-commerce pricing solution, as well as RBS’s cash management services. FXmicropayTM is able to handle up to 3,000 transactions per second, 24 hours a day. When sales are completed, FXmicropayTM converts the foreign currency received back to the domestic currency at the guaranteed rate.
