Negeri Sembilan is a unique state in Malaysia. It has long been related with Minang culture which derives from Minangkabau in Indonesia. In the 15th century, the Minangkabau people from Sumatra, Indonesia came to settle in Negeri Sembilan and thus, brought their culture with them. Among the many notable influences of this Minang culture is the Minang cuisine.

Minang cuisine use of ingredients is mainly rice, fish, coconut, green leafy, vegetables and chili padi. Various spices and herbs such as tumeric, ginger and galangal are important elements used in Minangkabau cooking.

Lemang is known as the Minang specialty and is normally eaten with rendang, a traditional dry meat curry dish cooked with coconut.

This fasting month, you can indulge in a wide spread of traditional Minang specialties at the Fresh Restaurant located in the lower ground level of the resort.

Break your fast with delicious dates and a variety of Ramadan juices to quench your thirst.

Start off at the appetizer section where you can feast your eyes on Kerabu Sotong; Bergedil Ayam; Serunding Daging; Paru Chili Api; Ikan Bilis Goreng; Rojak Singapura; Telor Ikan Pais; Ikan Pekasam; Kerabu Nangka; Sotong Kangkong; Urap Pucuk Manis and Ulam-Ulaman. The variety of salads and appetizers are complemented by an assortment of sauces which are mild and spicy.

The soup station is a must try. Chef Badrul has prepared his very own recipe of Sup Tulang Rawan; Sup Ekor Sapi; Soup Torpedo and Sup Kambing Bersantan. If you prefer a touch of western or Oriental flavour, highly recommended are the Wild Country Mushroom Soup; Asparagus Soup; Shanghai Seafood Soup and ABC Chinese Style Soup.

The home cooked style main courses will have you craving for more. Family and friends can sit back to enjoy Chef Badrul’s popular dishes such as Daging Masak Kerutub; Ikan Jenahak Masak Kari Bendi; Terung Bakar Lemak Putih; Udang Lemak Nenas; Sotong Sambal Petai; Siput Sedut Masak; Lamb Kuzi; Perut Masak Lemak; Daging Gulai Berempah; Ayam Kari Kapitan; Bendi Goreng Belacan; Nasi Briyani and Lamb Masala.

Chef Badrul has also prepared Mee Goreng  Mamak; Japanese Beancurd Minced Chicken; Steam Fish Teow Chew Style; Roasted Beef with Black Pepper Sauce; Butter Prawns; Roasted Chicken with Wild Mushroom Sauce; Egg Foo Yong and Baby Kailan with Oyster Sauce.

Live cooking stations make Fresh Restaurant a bustling market place. Visit stalls that will prepare your dishes a la minute.  The stalls will be serving Chicken and Beef Satay; Ikan Bakar; Wanton Noodle Soup; Pasta; Murtabak with Chicken Curry; Grilled Chicken Steak; Grilled Chicken Breast; Hainanese Chicken Rice; Nyonya Mee Curry; Roasted Lamb Leg; Chicken Sharwama; Yong Tau Foo and Prawn Mee.

The desserts are simply irresistible. After a sumptuous berbuka puasa meal, you can have a nice hot steaming coffee with mouth-watering local desserts such as Bubur Lambuk; Kuih Sepit; Aneka Pudding; Samperit; Bubur Kacang Hijau; Pengat Pisang; Cendol Pulut; Sago Gula Melaka; Lompat Tikam; Cucur Udang; Bubur Jagung and Puding Gula Hangus.

In addition, there is an array of scrumptious western desserts like Pastries; Pancakes; Cookies; Cream Caramel; Doughnuts; Tarts, Pies and a selection of cakes.

The Minang buffet menu changes daily to suit to every taste. While you break fast, you will be entertained with melodic in-house music.
