Will water rationing come to an end soon? Maybe. According to reports, the Selangor government is expected to lift water rationing in stages. An official announcement has yet to be made.

On the 25th of April, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said that water rationing would be lifted in stages if the water level in the dam goes above 40%. As of 8am yesterday, the water level at the Sungai Selangor water dam was at 40.23%, which is an increase from 38.97% from last week. Khalid also hinted at a “positive” announcement on his Twitter account yesterday.

The Sungai Selangor dam supplies water to over 60% of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor. More than two million people in Petaling Jaya, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur have been suffering with water rationing since 28 February this year.
