Is Bata a Malaysian brand? Surprisingly, the answer is no! In fact, you will be surprised to find out that there are many more well-known brands in Malaysia that seem “Malaysian”, but aren’t. Here are nine such brands.

1. Bata

Bata was founded in 1894 in Czech Republic by Tomáš Baťa, his brother Antonín and his sister Anna, whose family had been cobblers for generations.

2. Milo

Milo was introduced in 1934 by an Australian industrial chemist and inventor, Thomas Mayne, in Sydney, Australia.

3. Maggi

5. Nescafé
