InvestKL was established to attract larger multinationals to set up regional operating centres in Malaysia. They were charged with bringing in 100 companies from either the Fortune 500 or Forbes 2000 list to set up operations in Malaysia, by the year 2020. They recently announced that in 2014 they brought in 14 multinationals, beating their target of 13. By June of this year, they had managed to achieve RM4.48 billion in approved and committed investments, which will bring nearly 7,000 high-skilled jobs to Malaysia. This is roughly half their target.

InvestKL has proven to be a very efficient and well-run organisation under the leadership of Zainal Amanshah and they have built up a solid team of professionals. Clearly this has a been a major factor in their success. InvestKL recently won recognition as one Asia Pacific’s Top Investment Promotion Agencies from Site Selection a respected US publication covering corporate real estate strategy.
