We welcome either current university students or recent graduates to apply for an online editorial internship with our company. This is a great way to contribute and learn about the media industry in Malaysia.

The Expat Group, parent company of Expat Go Malaysia, was founded in 1996. We have expanded into a leading communications company providing information about Malaysia to the international community and like-minded Malaysians. We connect with our audience through over 20 channels, including magazines, online media, events, and visa services.

Candidate Requirements

  • University Student or Recent Graduate: Candidate should be currently studying (or recently graduated) with a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a discipline where they’ve acquired strong writing skills
  • Skills: We are looking for candidates who possesses outstanding English writing skills, strong communications skills, a high level of motivation, and an eagerness to learn and contribute
  • Duration: You must be able to work for a minimum of three months, either part-time or full-time
  • Location: Candidates must be able to commute to our office located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

Duties

You will be involved in supporting our online media business, primarily ExpatGoMalaysia.com and EatDrink.my. These websites attract over 200,000 monthly online readers (i.e. unique users) interested in Malaysia. Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Researching, writing and editing stories: news items and articles
  • Database management; verifying, updating, and adding businesses to our online directories
