La Cucina Wine Dinner

La Cucina Mediterranean Restaurant was the site for our latest Expat Wine Dinner, and guests enjoyed a delicious and varied menu, befitting for a restaurant specializing in the eclectic cuisines of the Mediterranean, much of which pairs naturally and effortlessly with wine. As guests arrived to the restaurant, situated in the lovely Pullman Hotel KL in Bangsar, canapés were served along with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc from The Harbour.

For the dinner, once everyone took their seats, a starter of Slow-cooked Salmon Flakes and Cauliflower Mousseline was well-received, as was the accompanying Sundays Block Chardonnay. Next up was a hot and creamy Shiitake Mushroom Soup with Rosemary Infused Oil, paired up with more Chardonnay. For the mains, guests had a choice of a Pan-seared Herb and Seafood-stuffed Chicken Supreme on Ginger Polenta Cake or a Black Pepper-rubbed Beef Tenderloin on a Mushroom “pain perdu.” The chicken was served with a Hocus Pocus Merlot, while the beef was paired with a Shiraz from the same label. Finally, for a sweet finish, a tempting Salted Caramel Mousse with Roasted Banana was served, while diners enjoyed their remaining wines and each other’s company. La Cucina served up a delicious meal, and a good time was had by all.
