Malaysia Crime Index Reduced

According to a report in Bernama, Malaysia’s crime index has been reduced to 40% within five years of the Government Transformation Programme (GTP).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak commented, while launching the 2014 GTP annual report and Economic Transformation programme (ETP), that more crime prevention initiatives were needed.

“In the Reducing Crime, National Key Result Areas (NKRA) we are grateful as the national crime index rate under the GTP has been reduced to 40 per cent within five-year period.

“What is more important is that efforts to reduce crime will continue,” he said.

During his speech, Najib added that vehicle-theft had been reduced to 20% and, for the first time, the crime trend showed a drop since the NKRA was introduced.

The crime rate seems to be going through the roof, these figures have undergone some serious massaging!

That is substantial. When I was in KL it seemed very safe.

It is death to persons carrying guns. That cuts down a lot of the violent crime.
