The Expat Wine Dinner at La Risata

Diners at our recent Expat Wine Dinner were treated to an excellent meal and a parade of well-paired wines at La Risata. The first course was a work of culinary art – a perfectly pan-seared Sea Scallop on thinsliced Cauliflower Carpaccio, paired with a lovely Selbach Incline Riesling. This excellent starter was quickly followed by a delicious Potato and Leek Soup with Black Winter Truffle Shavings, perfectly mated with a nice Alamos Chardonnay. The next dish was an Italian Creamed Chestnut Risotta with Lamb Ragout, and of course the perfect wine choice was a medium-bodied Pinot Noir, this one from the Saint Clair Vicars Choice range. The mains offered a choice of a Grilled Barramundi and Vegetables Skewer or a Slow Red Wine-Braised Beef Cheek, each served with accompaniments and paired with a bold Cranswick Cabernet Sauvignon. Finally, the dessert course featured Italian Profiteroles with Chantilly Cream and Candied Orange Zest. With excellent food, plenty of quality wine, and great company, it’s easy to see why everyone had such an outstanding time!
