Zouk Reopens after RM38-Million Renovation – And It Now Has a Slide

The lease for Zouk Club KL expires in June this year, and the club will be packing up to move to a new location in KL.

After 11 years in Jalan Ampang, Zouk will soon be relocated to its new home at Jalan Tun Razak. The club will be relocated to a brand new, mammoth entertainment spot called TREC.

About TREC

TREC (stands for Taste, Relish, Experience, Celebrate) in KL is Malaysia’s first and largest lifestyle, F&B and entertainment development. TREC was developed at RM323.6 million and is built on a 7-acre site, which is the size of six football pitches. TREC is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism under the National Key Economic Area, EPP 8 program. There will also be over 3,000 car park bays within and around TREC, and purpose-built taxi stands for metered service cabs.

Phase 1 of this new development, Electric Boulevard, will open in July this year. There are altogether five phases, or zones, at TREC; Electric Boulevard, Alcove, The Hive, The Terraces and Zouk KL. Electric Boulevard will comprise of two blocks of interconnected, double-storey spaces for bars, bistros, eateries and lounges.

With a built-up space of 60,000 sq ft, Zouk’s new location at TREC, which cost RM38 million, is the most expensive club ever built in Malaysia. Zouk KL is the only standalone nightspot that is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture under the National key Economic Areas. Zouk KL is also the only club to have a 5am operating license in the city. More details on the club will be released next month. For now, we know that Zouk KL at TREC will comprise of several clubs, one Members’ Lounge, 1 cafe and an alfresco area.
