One of Kuala Lumpur’s oldest shopping malls, BB Plaza, will officially close down in March.

The mall was built and managed by the Federal Government’s own Urban Development Authority (UDA) Holdings.

BB Plaza used to be a popular hang-out spot for teenagers, couples and families. In recent times, the mall has lost its popularity from the emergence of newer, more upscale malls in Kuala Lumpur. The ongoing construction of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in front of BB Plaza has not helped with business, as the project is blocking the facade of the mall.

In March, the mall will officially close to make way for a 60-storey luxury condominium tower which will stand on the top of a three-level shopping mall.
